In this fast-moving world where anyone and everyone is simply jumping from place to place trying to make their ends meet, we often keep aside the very basic yet essential part of our existence which is to take care of ourselves, especially our skin. Human skin is a reflection of the lifestyle we possess and the efforts we put into keeping our bodies a priority. With this, loving yourself and pampering for a few minutes every day can never go wrong and so it is paramount to have a daily skincare routine.

Now, for those who are complete novices in taking care of their skin, understanding the process before commencing can prove to be quite fruitful. With Dr. Sakhiya's, let us take you through the whole ecosystem of skincare.

1. Determine Your Skin Type

To curate your daily skincare routine, the very first step is to determine your skin type. In general, there are basically four skin types:

  1. Normal Skin
  2. Oily Skin
  3. Dry Skin and
  4. Combination Skin

Normal Skin Type

People possessing this skin type have neither too oily nor too dry skin. It is the least common skin type with minimal skin concerns. Hence, normal skin type is considered to be the least problematic one of them all.

Oily Skin Type

Does your skin look like French fries dipped deep in oil? Then you have oily skin. The characteristics of oily skin are that it looks too greasy and shiny. Along with this, individuals with oily skin type have larger pores that get clogged with sweat, dirt, and oil which eventually results in excessive acne and pimples.

Dry Skin Type

The underlying trait of dry skin is that this skin type is quite flaky and has a rough texture. Quite often the skin feels tight and itchy making the person uncomfortable. Also, dry skin tends to make a dull and pale appearance on the face.

Combination Skin Type

Now, the fourth and last skin type is the combination skin. The combination of Oily, as well as Dry skin, is called the Combination skin type. Closely observe your skin and note that if you feel oily on the T-zone on your face whilst dry on the cheeks, then most probably you are having a combination skin type.

So, this is how you determine your skin type.

2. Choose the Products that suit your skin type

The very next step is to select the products which shall suit your skin type.

Normal Skin

A person having normal skin has very minimal skin concerns with which the skincare routine can be of an elementary level. However, this does not determine whether you do not have or would not have skin concerns.

Oily Skin

If you are somebody who has oily skin, be very careful when choosing skin products. Go for the products which balance the excess oil, products have Non-Comedogenic properties that won't clog pores. Oily skin can produce excess sebum and can cause breakouts for which usage of products designed for acne-prone skin can be advantageous.

Dry Skin

Hunt for products that include ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, glycerine, and Shea butter. These products moisturize, nourish, and soothe dry skin.

Combination Skin

Balance is the key for those having a combination skin type. Hence use universal products, I.e. suitable for all skin types.

Pro-Tip: One of the most imperative things to do when trying out a new skincare product is to always do a patch test before adding a product to your routine. Wait for 4-5 hours to see if you encounter any reaction from the product.

3. Follow a Good Skincare Routine

A. Cleanse

The first and the most pivotal step in any skincare routine. Before applying any skincare product it is excessively crucial to get rid of the dirt, oil, or any makeup sitting on your face. With this, choose the cleanser which is formulated for your skin type.

Dr. Sakhiya’s Vitamin C Face Wash has all the necessary ingredients, and antioxidants such as Vitamin C which shall deep cleanse and eradicate the dirt and dust from the face. Moreover, it is free from toxic chemicals such as Paraben, Sulphate, and Mineral oils.

B. Use a Toner

Usually, Toner is overlooked while doing a skincare routine but take note, it is intensely essential. Toner offers various benefits such as soothing the skin, balancing the skin’s PH levels, and removing residue of the cleanser from the skin.

C. Moisturise

To maintain good skin health, keep a check on not missing out on the step of moisturizing your skin in your daily skincare routine and yes, this is eligible for all skin types.

For Dry skin: Cream-based moisturizer

For Oily/Combination skin: Water or Gel based.

Here, we are done with the CTM (Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize) routine.

D. Sunscreen

The last step of any skincare routine has to be a good protection formula for your skin, which is Sunscreen.

Sunscreen not only protects your skin from sun exposure which causes premature aging, dull skin, dark spots, and sunburn but also helps your skin by becoming a sheath to avoid any dust and unwanted materials getting in contact with the skin.

Choose sunscreen which is non-oily, lightweight, and shall give your face a matte finish all day long.

Dr. Sakhiya’s Sunscreen enriched with Aloe Vera Extract is specially customized for all skin types. It is a non-sticky and non-greasy sunscreen having a waterproof nature.

All in all, Skincare does not have to be complicated, simply make it thoughtful. With DR. Sakhiya's wide range of products, you can initiate your skincare routine and give your skin a healthy and glowing life.
