There are different types of dark spots; hence, to remove them, you should know which type of dark spots you are suffering from.

How Many Types Of Dark Spots Are There

Here are the most common types of dark spots a person can have-

  1. Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH):

It causes due to inflammation that leads to enhanced pigmentation. People generally face blemishes when they face PIH. Touching the acne leads to dark spots in this situation.
  1. Melasma:

Women with darker skin complexions generally get to face melasma. In this skin issue, the spots are of larger sizes and the color of the skin ranges from light yellow to dark brown.
  1. Lentigines:

This type of spot occurs due to excessive exposure of skin to sunlight. So, this happens generally to adults as they are more prone to the outside environment and they can either have single or multiple spots.

  1. Cover your face

Only early morning sunlight is good for health and one must avoid going outside between 10 am and 4 pm unless it is urgent. Covering the face with a cloth protects it not only from direct sunlight but also from pollutants. If you are at a beach, sit under a sun umbrella. If that is also not possible, at least wear a wide-brimmed hat to shade your face.
  1. Avoid touching your skin repetitively

Our hands are not clean all the time. Hence, we should avoid touching our faces with our hands again and again, especially if there is a scratch or a mosquito bite. Rubbing over it repeatedly can cause inflammation and dark spots.
